Academy of Country MusicLast night on the stage of the Mother Church of Country Music, the reigning CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year teamed up with the winningest artist in ACM history for a rare moment: Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert turned “The House That Built Me” — her triple-platinum, multi-week number one from 2010 — into a duet on the stage of the Ryman.

Keith was there to present Miranda with the Gene Weed Milestone Award at the 2019 ACM Honors, recognizing her 32 ACM wins, among other accomplishments.

While onstage, the two reminisced about how Keith took Miranda on tour in 2005.

“My first tour I ever did,” she recalled. “I was terrified.”

The Aussie superstar went on to remember how he knew he’d found a “kindred spirit” once he spotted the newcomer watching him every night to see what she could learn.

“You are absolutely one of my heroes,” Miranda told Keith. “And he smells good. He always smells good,” she added as the Nashville audience laughed.

Miranda’s new song, “It All Comes Out in the Wash,” is already a top twenty-five hit. Her new album, Wildcard, will arrive November 1.
